Cockrell House is operated by the non-profit SMVIZ Veterans Housing Society which was formed in early 2009.
Our mission is to provide shelter, food and support services to ex-members of the Canadian Armed Forces, Regular and Reserve who are homeless or under-housed.
The Foundation is the giving arm of The Royal Canadian Legion BC/Yukon Command. It is generously supported by the Legion’s branches, Ladies’ Auxiliaries and regional Poppy Funds—who tirelessly fundraise to support our giving objectives.

We at Legion are trying to change this by raising more awareness and support for Veterans with PTSD. The Legion Service Dog program partners BC Veterans with BC dogs that are professionally trained with then to perform specific tasks and provide emotional support.
Losing your keys is a frustrating, time consuming and expensive experience. As a solution, Legion is sending out their Lost Key Tags for 2016/2017.
The Legion is committed to supporting Veterans and their families by offering financial assistance for post-secondary education to those in need.
