Remembrance Day

When: November 11 at 10:45am

Where: Royal Canadian Legion Delta Branch 61 (4896 Delta St)

Unfortunately, because of COVID-19 the general public are discouraged from attending.

The parade will commence at 10:15 am from the Legion at 4896 Delta Street and travel to the Cenotaph at Ladner Memorial Park for a 10:45 am ceremony. Ladner Memorial Park is located at 5010 47th Avenue.

Our executive will lay the majority of the wreaths at 9:00am. Our colour party and executive will be at the cenotaph for 10:30. Our local dignitaries will arrive at 10:45. Our MC and padre will start the ceremony. We will have one bugler and one piper. We will have the 2 minute silence and the dignitaries and executive will lay the remainder of the wreaths. The ceremony will consist of 25-30 people only.

How to Participate

The ceremony will be closed to the public. Our local TV station will film the ceremony and play it on Delta Cablevision. We will invite the dignitaries back to the legion for some light snacks. There will be a couple of short speeches and the laying of our poppies.

Other options to remember include wearing a poppy, and taking a minute of silence on your own on Nov.11 at 11:11am.
